"RUSSIANS ARE GRUMPY, UNFRIENDLY, ALWAYS DRUNK, CORRUPT, UNRELIABLE AND DON'T SMILE"
Old history books, politics and a lot of old James Bond movies make us believe that Russia is filled with unfriendly, corrupt, alcoholic and grumpy people. But is that really the truth? What happens when you don't look to Russia on the eight o'clock news, but when you travel to the country yourself? And what happens when you take the time to talk to those "grumpy" Russians?
Photographer Marcel Brons examined the subject and got to know the Russians as energetic, spontaneous, polite, helpful and above all happy! So it's time to break with at least one old prejudice for once and for all.
GRUMPY RUSSIANS is a natural series of photo's from cheerful Russians. No models, no flash lights, no studio ...just by asking people on the streets randomly if it's possible to take a photo of them. And what happens? Every Russian will start to laugh spontaneous in fromt of the camera. For instance when asking: "Can you look very grumpy to me?"
